If you’ve been eyeing a direct flight between Dubai and London, there’s good news on the departures board. British Airways has restored its Heathrow–Dubai service after an eight-month suspension, with flight BA105 landing at Dubai International Airport on Wednesday, 4 November.
The Dreamliner Returns
The flight left Heathrow on Tuesday evening. Flightradar24 records, cited by Gulf News, show a Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner arriving in Dubai before heading back to London as BA104 on Wednesday morning.
BA says it will begin with one daily flight in each direction this winter. A second daily service is planned for summer 2027, which would lift the schedule from seven to 14 weekly departures from each city.
The route went quiet after the Middle East conflict broke out at the end of February. BA had pencilled in 25 October for its return before pushing the restart back to early November.
Abu Dhabi Will Have To Wait
The comeback does not extend to the capital. British Airways has said its Abu Dhabi service will stay suspended until the winter 2027–28 season.
Who Else Is Coming Back
Other European carriers are rebuilding their Dubai schedules on separate timelines. Lufthansa, Swiss and Eurowings have pushed their restart to 25 November. Lufthansa plans up to five weekly flights each from Frankfurt and Munich, while Swiss will fly daily from Zurich and Eurowings daily from Berlin. Austrian Airlines is scheduled to resume Vienna–Dubai on 12 December with five weekly flights.
Airlines Still On Pause
Some carriers are staying away for longer. KLM will not operate Amsterdam–Dubai this winter, up to and including 27 March 2027, and Air Canada’s Dubai flights stay cancelled until the end of March 2027. Virgin Atlantic has also suspended its seasonal winter service, and its rebooking policy covers cancelled flights between 25 October 2026 and 27 March 2027.

What Travellers Should Do
Before you book or fly, check the latest status with the airline directly, since schedules on these routes have already been revised once this season. If your carrier is among the paused ones, look at the rebooking and refund options on its website instead of waiting for a restart date to appear. Policies differ from one airline to another, so read the terms attached to your ticket before you make any changes.
For now, Heathrow–Dubai flyers have one more nonstop option to choose from, and with Lufthansa Group and Austrian Airlines lining up their own returns, the winter map is slowly filling back in.
