Some homes tell you about the people who live in them. Anupriya Nagar’s home tells you about the things they have loved for decades. On Stories From Bharat, the Hanuman Ansh producer welcomes Kamiya Jani into a space where art isn’t reserved for gallery walls; it spills into the garden, finds its way into the living spaces and comes with stories worth stopping for.
Anupriya Nagar’s Home Features A Marble Sculpture Collection Spanning Decades
The first thing that catches Kamiya Jani’s attention is the collection of marble sculptures scattered across the garden. Anupriya Nagar reveals that much of this collection is thanks to her parents, who have been art collectors for years. While a few pieces may be newer additions, the collection itself goes back nearly 25 to 30 years.
That’s a lot of history sitting right there in the garden! Among the sculptures, Anupriya has a particular favourite: a magnificent owl that looks almost regal, with the sort of presence that makes you want to take a second look. Step indoors, and there’s even more to discover.
Paintings of saxophones, horses and sweeping mountain landscapes fill the home, each bringing a different mood to the space. One artwork, however, comes with a rather lovely backstory. Anupriya shows Kamiya Jani a sculpture she made during her school years, choosing Dances of India as her theme.

The Story Behind The Himalayan Paintings In Anupriya Nagar’s Home
The piece features a goddess adorned with jewellery, celebrating the richness and beauty of Indian dance traditions. It’s quite wonderful to see something created as a school project still holding a place of pride in her home
. Then there’s a photograph of a painting of the Himalayas, which Anupriya uses to introduce Kamiya to an artist who spent his entire life painting the mountains. Think about that for a moment: an entire lifetime devoted to capturing one landscape, returning to it again and again, perhaps finding something new in it every time.
For art lovers, that story might be just as beautiful as the painting itself. And perhaps that’s the real charm of Anupriya’s home. The sculptures may catch your eye, and the paintings may draw you in, but it’s the stories behind them that make you want to linger a little longer.
