Chai is not just a beverage, but a sentiment for Indians. As it turns out, Indians are not the only ones who are sentimental about tea. Millie Bobby Brown, who is a British actor, has a very specific way in which she likes to brew her tea. She taught us how to make a proper British cuppa tea. There is one pet peeve that she highlights when it comes to brewing tea.

In a recent interview with Netflix, Millie Bobby demonstrated how she likes to make her tea. During the short tutorial, she mentions that she likes her tea to be quite strong and we must say we wholeheartedly agree.

She also mentions that you should pour in the tea brew before you pour in the milk. If you’re not familiar with the way Britishers brew tea, this might seem confusing. Where in India, milk is poured in while the tea is on the stove, Britishers brew the tea separately.

They add in milk only if they want to and the amount of milk depends on your personal preference. Millie says that she only prefers a “splash” of milk which, if you ask any tea puritan, is the only correct way to brew tea.

Right at the start of the interview, she sternly tells the viewer to “Never EVER heat your tea in the microwave.” She goes on to say that it is disgusting when people do that. After pouring in the splash of milk, she drops one sugar cube into her cup.

She also schools us on etiquette because she says that you have to have your pinky finger up while you’re sipping tea.
