What Happened?
A banker had recently arrived at a State Bank of India ATM, about 10 minutes away from Rashtrapati Bhavan and found that the kiosk was broken. Suspecting it to be a robbery attempt, he immediately raised an alarm. When the cops reviewed the CCTV footage, they found that it was not a human being, but a ‘rhesus macaque’ monkey pulling out the front panel of the cash dispensing machine. It bounced up, opened the panel and tried to explore the machine. Then it tumbled back to the floor and walked towards the exit. The video posted on Twitter has garnered about 1.1K likes and 58.5K views. A person named Vikash Sharma also reposted the video with the caption, “Even a monkey understands the importance of cash during #Lockdown3.”

What Else?
Something a bit similar to the monkey episode recently took place inside a Ghaziabad ATM and this was a scary show indeed. A huge snake glid inside the machine and the video of the same was shared on Twitter. People joked about the incident telling that the reptile was trying to check its ‘hiss-ab’ with the bank.
Banks are known to have snakes in their boardrooms. Never seen one that enters an ATM.
I guess after the clean up of NPA and stoppage of loan disbursal services through phone banking the snakes in our system had to find a way to get the money out .
