MTHL: CM Shinde To Flag Off India’s Longest Sea Bridge With 100 KMPH Speed Limit

The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link or the MTHL is almost complete. It recently finished end-to-end connectivity and therefore, a symbolic ride will take place on the bridge. This particular project will open to the public in November. Though the road is almost completed, minor details like installing crash barriers, opening toll sections, erecting view-cutters, asphalting decks, etc., The Chief Minister of the state of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde is going to flag off the longest sea bridge in the country.

Mumbai Trans Harbour Link: Eknath Shinde To Flag Off MTHL

The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link or MTHL will soon be complete and will be open to the public in November. Today, however, the Chief Minister of the state, Eknath Shinde will flag off the MTHL. The project has been in the pipeline for close to three decades.

According to a Times Now article, a 180-metre-long slab will be installed on the sea bridge. To mark the instalment of this slab, Shinde will give the green flag to a bus carrying engineers and officers from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority or the MMRDA.

Measuring a total of 22 kilometres, this will be the longest sea bridge in the country. Because of this bridge, the travelling time from Mumbai to Navi Mumbai will be cut down to 20 minutes. It will also help in saving time on travel to places like Goa and Pune.

Will Help In Connecting Navi Mumbai International Airport

The Navi Mumbai International Airport will come up soon and when it does, the MTHL will greatly help in travelling to and from it. This will help those who visit the vicinity for business-related matters and will help save their time.

This particular project is wide and has six lanes and it has cost a total of ₹17,800 crores. As much as 85 per cent of funding was received from the Japan International Cooperation Agency or JICA. This particular project is hoped to help with connectivity and economic development.
