Passengers travelling from Mumbai’s CSIA won’t have to stand in cues to get their boarding passes stamped anymore!

What Is It?

New age technology is rolling in and Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport will be ditching physical stamping of boarding passes to proceed for check-ins. All passengers travelling across India via Terminal 2 will be able to go through their security check-ins by scanning the QR codes on their e-tickets. An e-reader will be placed at the entry points so it will be an easier and faster transit for passengers.

What Else?

Mumbai’s CSIA Terminal 2 has adopted these measures to cut down the time for security check-ins and Terminal 1 will also be upgraded soon enough! This movement has started by the Indian government as the Digi Yatra movement and soon they plan to introduce facial recognition devices so that the need for ID proofs will be eliminated altogether.
