A Bangkok-based restaurant which is run by Chef Garima Arora from Mumbai has got its first Michelin star.

After 1.5 years, GAA restaurant in Bangkok which is headed by Chef Garima Arora has bagged its first Michelin star making its chef the first Indian woman to get a Michelin star.

What Else?

The restaurant is located in Bangkok, Thailand. Garima was born in Mumbai and further studied at the prestigious Jai Hind College in South Mumbai. She has also worked as a journalist before she realized her dream was to become a celebrated chef in the food industry.

The GAA restaurant is the only one that is hemmed by an Indian woman in Bangkok. This is the second edition of the Michelin Guide Bangkok, Phuket and Phang-Nga 2019 selection and it has recognized 27 dining establishments in total.

Garima has also worked with celebrity chefs in the past like Gordon Ramsay, Rene Redzepi, and Gaggan Anand.
