Mumbai Gets Its First Upcycled Cafe In The Form Of The Bombay Container

I think it is fairly obvious that we are in a precarious position when it comes to where the world is headed to. With climate change, global warming and pollution playing a major role in ruining the planet as we know it, upcycling and sustainability is the need of the hour. And with that thought in mind, Mumbai has gotten its very first environmentally conscious upcycled container cafe. Called ‘The Bombay Container’, this new age cafe is housed inside a 46-year-old shipping container. That’s right. They have taken one of those huge shipping containers that are usually left to rust around and given it a complete makeover.

What Is The Bombay Container?

The transport logistic container is Monarch Hospitality’s very first venture in the upcycled cafe space. With a very warm and cheery ambience all around, the cafe is all about being environmentally conscious. Located in Wadala, the cafe only uses recycled and sustainable materials and has a kitchen that has been designed to be energy efficient with a minimum carbon footprint. With over a hundred fusion dishes on offer, the cafe serves a multitude of cuisines like Italian, Chinese, Continental and Indian cuisine with a modern twist to it.

And that is not all, their chef has an experience of roughly 17 years in the culinary industry. So, you can rest assured that the food here is nothing but the best to snack on. The atmosphere of The Bombay Container is really laidback and since it is spread across a large space, you can sit here and enjoy your loved ones’ company while looking up at the starry sky on a cloudless night. What’s more, is that you don’t even need to worry about reserving a table because the vibe of the cafe is super casual and you can drop in whenever you want to have a good time.

We are pretty excited about this venture and you need to head down here for it really is a one-of-a-kind experience.
