Getting to enjoy beautiful views is one of the best parts about travelling, especially if the journey is long. Keeping this in mind, the Central Railway has introduced special Vistadome coaches which are designed in such a way that passengers travelling inside can get optimum views of the routes they’re on. Mumbai-Goa Tejas Express will become the first train to get Vistadome coaches on either side of the train.
Mumbai-Goa Tejas Express Vistadome & Its Features
The all-new Vistadome coaches are chock-full of novel and state-of-the-art features. These coaches have automatic doors which open and close electronically. The coach also comes fully equipped with the Global Positioning System or GPS-based information system. It will also have multiple television screens to ensure an endlessly entertaining journey for the passengers.
What is more? The seats of this coach, in addition to being plush and comfortable, will also be rotatable and pushback chairs will also be available. So whenever you want, you can turn your seat toward the wide glass window, lean back and optimally soak in the view.
If that isn’t enough for you, the Vistadome coaches will also have a special area dedicated solely to taking in views. This viewing gallery will allow passengers to stand before the wide windows for as long as they want and enjoy the views.

First Train In India With Two Such Coaches
By having two of these coaches on either side of the train, the Mumbai-Goa Tejas Express became the first-ever train in India to have two such coaches. According to Mid-day, the Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, Shivaji Sutar, said that these new coaches are a hit amongst passengers.
He also said that the revised composition of the train is two Vistadome coaches, two luggage and generator and brake vans, 11 Air-conditioned chair cars, and one Executive Chair car. Since the Vistadome coaches are a huge hit among passengers, the Central Railway decided to increase the number of coaches so that more people can enjoy the views.
This move will be put into effect from the 14th of April. The CSMT-Madgaon Tejas express numbered 22119 or 22120 will get an additional Vistadome coach.
