Since the last few months, there have been many new routes added to Vistadome and hence its popularity has increased. The aim is to lure people towards opting for a vistadome’s scenic journey rather than flight or road journeys. We all know that Durga Puja, which is a known festival in Kolkata,is round the corner. To keep up with the huge demand, Vistadome coaches between New Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar may run every day during Puja in October or November.
Vistadome Increases Frequency During Durga Puja
Vistadome connecting New Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar in Bengal may be run everyday as the Pujo season draws near. Every Saturday, a train with one Vistadome coach departs from New Jalpaiguri for Alipurduar and returns on Sunday. Dipankar Manna, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) said that the vistadomes are already booked 80% during the Pujo weekends and the demand is expected to increase. This is why the frequency too has to be increased to meet the demand. Between New Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar is a particularly lovely section of road. In addition to the forests, passengers can also observe tea gardens, Bhutan‘s hills, rivers, and wildlife.

Vistadomes Offer The Most Scenic Journeys
The plush Vistadome coaches, which have rotating seating and big windows, offer a stunning 360-degree perspective of the landscape. These trains run on various lines and provide passengers with a wonderful view, revolving chairs, plenty of light through the glass ceiling, access to WiFi, and many other facilities. The chair cars were initially scheduled for Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, but as the monsoon season’s tourist season waned, the frequency was decreased. The trains also have an observation deck for passengers to stand and view the surroundings. It has only been a year that vistadomes introduced the Bengal route.
