One of the significant reasons behind the Mumbai International Airport reporting massive footfall frequently is its excellent connectivity to different parts of the world. It has a strong air connection with Saudi Arabia, among others. With this crucial network, the airport is expecting the departure of about 33,000 Haj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, according to the Press Note.

According to the preparations, the airport is capable of handling the arrivals and departures of more than 65,000 passengers starting from May 2024 to July 2024. To control the rise in passenger footfall and ensure convenience for all flyers, the authorities will focus on “a phased-wise and coordinated approach.”

It is highly likely that the airport will notice a 157 per cent year-on-year growth in Haj pilgrims boarding flights from Mumbai Airport. This is in comparison to the last year. Presently, several airlines provide services between Mumbai and Saudi Arabia. There are multiple options such as Air India, IndiGo, Vistara, and Saudia Airlines. A total of 11 flights, including all these airlines, operate on this route every day.
