Mumbai’s Metro Line 2B, part of the city’s growing metro network, will finally begin operations after a four-year delay, providing much-needed relief to commuters. The line, spanning 23.6 kilometres from D N Nagar in Andheri to Mandale in Mankhurd, will feature 5 stations in its initial phase. This new addition to the city’s transport system will significantly ease congestion, reduce travel times, and offer a quicker, more efficient alternative to road transport. This will particularly benefit residents of the western and eastern suburbs of Mumbai.

The first phase of Metro Line 2B connects critical suburban areas and allows commuters to travel more quickly across densely populated regions. The following stations are part of the initial launch:

  • D N Nagar

  • Lower Andheri

  • Andheri West

  • Jogeshwari

  • Goregaon

These five stations are strategically located to cater to large residential and commercial areas, providing access to thousands of daily commuters. The line will also ease the pressure on the already overcrowded Western Express Highway and local trains. This will offer a more efficient and faster alternative for long-distance travel across the city.
