When you sit down with Jackie Shroff, you’re bound to walk away with a few pearls of wisdom, which are often delivered at the most unexpected moments and with his trademark humour. So, when he joined our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, for an episode of Sunday Brunch, travel was naturally part of the conversation. And true to form, the legendary actor had some surprisingly insightful thoughts to share.
What Are Jackie Shroff’s Favourite Travel Destinations?
Travel is an inevitable part of any conversation with Curly Tales, so when we asked Jackie Shroff about his favourite places to visit, his answer made us pause and reflect. According to the actor, travel lovers don’t need to look beyond India because the country has everything one could possibly want.
“Duniya mein kahin nahi jaane ki zaroorat padti kyunki Hindustan mein sab kuch hai,” he said thoughtfully.
Elaborating on his point, the legendary actor spoke about India’s incredible diversity—from the snow-capped mountains of the north to the beaches and lush landscapes of the south. He also highlighted the North-East as a paradise for nature lovers, thanks to its dense greenery and breathtaking scenery. Then there’s Rajasthan, where travellers can experience vast deserts, majestic forts and royal palaces all in one destination.

Feels People Should Travel India First!
Speaking about the western coast, Jackie pointed to the stunning stretch from Mumbai to Mangalore, which offers some of the country’s most scenic coastal experiences. Summing up his philosophy on travel in India, he added, “You don’t miss your sea, nor your mountain, neither your snow, nor your jungle. You miss nothing. You just ask, and it’s there.”
“Hum logo ko aadat hai, doosre logo ki ghar main zyada jhakte hain. Mere ghar main kya hai, phele woh dekh na! Hindustan main itni saari jagahen hai, phele usko toh dekh. So, I think in India, every place is beautiful, and I enjoy every place I am taken to during shootings – I love it!” he went on to elaborate.
