Vistara Starts Mumbai To Frankfurt Flights
On November 15, 2023, at 13:00 (IST), the first flight aboard Vistara’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner took off from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai and is scheduled to arrive at Frankfurt International Airport at 17:30 (GMT). As of right now, Vistara operates 6x weekly flights from Frankfurt to Delhi.
Mr. Vinod Kannan, CEO of Vistara, stated that they launched five direct flights to London Heathrow after seeing there was a need for an Indian airline that could provide a top-notch experience and link to long-haul destinations in Europe from Mumbai. With great pleasure, they are now offering six weekly flights from India’s financial hub to Frankfurt, which is their second European destination. The Flight Had To Return Due To A Stray Dog!
A stray dog got on the runway of a Vistara flight headed for Goa on Monday afternoon, causing it to return to Bengaluru without making a touchdown at Dabolim Airport in Goa.
With 180 passengers, Vistara aircraft UK881 took off at 12:55 pm from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru and returned to the city around 3 pm due to runway limitations in Goa. The flight departed Bengaluru once more at 4:55 pm and arrived in Goa at 6:15 pm.
According to an airport official, when air traffic control noticed a stray dog on the Dabolim airport runway, they advised the pilot to hold off on landing until the runway was cleared in accordance with protocol. However, the pilot decided to reroute to Bengaluru.
Vistara also informed about the diversion by social media post stating that the flight Bengaluru to Goa was diverted to Bengaluru due to runway restrictions. Moreover, they stated that the flight was expected to arrive at 1505 hrs.
