Museum, Theatre & A Restaurant; This Kanpur Stadium Is Set To Become A New Hotspot For Cricket Fans

In January 1985, Mohammad Azahruddin made his third consecutive Test century after his debut game in Kolkata and then in Chennai. It set a Test cricket record for him to have three in a row. Also, Kanpur’s Green Park stadium served as the site of the significant event. The 1987 World Cup and the IPL in 2016 were both held at Green Park, one of the country’s five permanent Test cricket stadiums. It’s time for this iconic stadium to reach the next level of heights and serve as an amazing centre of experience for all cricket fans. That is where Parkside comes into the equation. Parkside, a brand-new facility with a café, museum, and theatre is being added to the stadium to further enhance its offerings for cricket enthusiasts.

Parkside Kanpur Is A Complete Experience

A project by Kanpur Smart City Ltd, the Uttar Pradesh Sports Department, and Kanpur’s The Landmark Hotel transformed the once underutilised Visitor’s Gallery at Green Park into the brand-new Parkside. A players’ dressing room and a cricket stand were once located inside the pavilion. With rooftop stadium seating, the renovated area is now split over two storeys.

A variety of Indian, European, and Asian cuisines are served in the Parkside restaurant. Plan an exclusive supper with your loved ones and indulge in the chef’s signature lal imli papaya salad, cawnpore chilli chicken and charcoal pizzas here while you sip a cinnamon dawn mocktail. The amazing food when mixed with the austere views of the stadium will offer an experience like no other. Especially for all cricket fans, this is a one-of-a-kind place.

In case you’re wondering if the place is suitable and fun enough for kids or not, Park Play, the nearby cricket simulator, will be the spot they wouldn’t want to leave.

Visit For A Museum, Theatre, And More

The museum is definitely going to Parkside’s biggest attraction with memorabilia signed by Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Sanath Jayasuriya, and Brett Lee, among others, showcased in a cross-section. You will also find a cross-section completely dedicated to all the women’s cricketers in India.

There is also Park Screen, a private theatre that will broadcast live sporting events. A 15-minute video on Green Park’s history is included in museum admission, and private parties can even be held at the theatre. With a lovely view of the greenery, of course, the area has been intended for a variety of age groups, from teens eager to try their skills at the cricket simulator to families and couples heading out for a weekend supper.
