Every year on the third Sunday in July, ice cream enthusiasts from all over the world celebrate Ice-cream Day. Here are some intriguing details about ice creams from The Godrej Food Trends Report, in honour of the day falling on July 16 this year.

According to the experts, the demand for healthy ice cream will increase. The term “clean” is used to describe ice creams that have transparent, uncomplicated, healthy, and understood ingredients. Additionally, the panel predicts a similar demand for speciality diet-friendly products like low-sugar, protein-fortified, or vegan ice cream.

More than 350 thought leaders, including celebrity chefs, home cooks, professional chefs, food bloggers, health experts, media experts, mixologists, dietitians, restaurateurs, sommeliers, food manufacturers, and others, came together to create the Godrej Foods Trends Report 2023. This multicultural group presented insightful information about their fields of expertise.

The Godrej Food Trends Report 2023 states:

  • Experts predict a 75 per cent increase in demand for dairy-free or vegan ice creams.
  • Experts predict another 75 per cent increase in demand for clean ice creams. 
  • And lastly, they predict a 50 per cent increase in demand for ice creams that claim to be healthy. 

From its historic foundations of conventional flavours like Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry, the ice cream market is currently undergoing a spectacular transition. It has since developed into a varied environment, offering a wide variety of options that satisfy a wide range of tastes and preferences. That includes everything from Indian cuisine-inspired options to worldwide goods like gelato, sorbet, fro-yo, and much more.

The managing director of Perfect Bite Consulting and Curating Editor states that more transparency is now required as a result of this desire, as is seen by the focus on clean labelling. Additionally, those who place a high priority on their health are increasingly looking for vegan and healthier ice cream substitutes.
