Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 is set to kickstart its services from November 17, 2023, between Belapur Terminal and Pendhar and we are here to share all the necessary details about the metro services. From the number of stations to the route to the cost of travelling, here’s everything that you need to know about it.

Navi Mumbai Metro Is Ready To Start Providing Services

Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, CIDCO Ltd (@CIDCO_Ltd) shared the anthem of Navi Mumbai Metro made by CIDCO.

After a very long delay, the Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 is finally commencing on Friday. The construction process continued for over a decade and also got delayed due to several issues faced due to contractors and different problems. But the long wait of Navi Mumbaikars has come to an end after all the delay. The first metro service is starting at 3 PM on Friday.

Here’s a glimpse of the metro train shared on the X (formerly Twitter) platform by Indian Tech & Infra (@IndianTechGuide).

  • The first metro train service is beginning at 3 PM and is going to continue till 10 PM.
  • The actual starting time from November 18 is going to be 6 AM. The first metro service is commencing from Belapur Terminal and Pendhar at 6 AM from Saturday onwards.
  • Metro trains are ready to initiate services with a frequency of 15 minutes, according to the release shared by CIDCO.
  • The route between Belapur Terminal and Pendhar is 11.1 km.
  • It includes a total of 11 stations.
  • The maintenance depot of the metro is at Taloja.
  • The traction substations are Kharghar and Panchanand.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated that the metro services are starting without any inauguration ceremony or any official public programme.

Arindam Mahapatra (@Maha7Arindam) shared a picture from 15 hours prior to the inaugural run of Navi Mumbai metro.

The fares of the metro tickets are based on the total distance travelled by metros.

  • Tickets cost ₹10 for travelling between 0 KM to 2 KM.
  • The ticket fare is ₹15 for distances between 2 KM to 4 KM.
  • The ticket fare is ₹20 for 4 KM to 6 KM.
  • For taking a metro ride of 6 KM to 8 KM, the fare is ₹25.
  • Ticket fare is ₹30 for travelling from 8 KM to 10 KM.
  • The fare increases to ₹40 after 10 KM.
