Neos Airline, an Italian airline, has decided to increase its flight routes. They have added a direct flight from Amritsar to Italy to the list. The city is home to the Golden Temple, a sacred pilgrim site. Additionally, it is a major commercial hub in Punjab. Here is all about the new flight route from Amritsar to Italy.
Neos Airline Started Direct Flight From Amritsar To Italy
On Wednesday, Neos Airline launched its first direct flight from Sri Guru Ramdas International Airport in Amritsar to Verona, Italy. The weekly flight is scheduled to depart Wednesday at 3.35 am (IST) from Verona city and arrive in Amritsar at 1.55 pm. Similarly, on Wednesday at 3:35 pm, the aircraft will take off from Amritsar bound for Verona.
Neos Airline officials said that although the flight would only operate once a week initially, its frequency might be raised based on the response from fliers. During a news conference conducted in this location today, airline spokesman Kulwant Rai Ghai announced that the airline plans to expand its flight schedule to accommodate more passengers.
According to him, the airline has assigned a 180-seater aircraft for this particular route. Prior until now, travellers had to fly to Milan before taking a bus or rail to Verona, he added, noting that the majority of the city’s roughly 2 lakh Indian residents are from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu Kashmir.

Verona in Italy is a UNESCO World Heritage Centre. There are still remnants of Verona’s 2,000-year past in the old city. The city’s walls blocked the construction of railroads and industries in the 19th century within the old city. As a result, there is remarkable cohesion and a high degree of homogeneity in the urban structure. River flooding was a common occurrence but precautions taken at that time have reduced the risk.
Another Flight To Canada
Earlier in April, the airline started a flight from Amritsar to Canada on April 6. The Italian airline began using Milan Malpensa Airport as its hub to run a one-stop service between Amritsar and Toronto, Canada. The CEO of Neos Airline, Stradiotti, announced during a press conference that the flight will take place every Thursday, once a week, with a brief stopover in Milan, Italy.
The CEO went on to say that the number of flights will be gradually raised and that it will depend on how customers react when the service is first offered. Neos Airline’s one-stop route between Amritsar and Toronto via Milan, according to organisers of North America for Fly Amritsar Initiative Anantdeep Singh Dhillon and president of Amritsar Vikas Manch Harjap Singh Aujla, would boost the local economy.
There had been a fresh surge of enthusiasm among the large Punjabi diaspora in Canada and local NGOs after Neos Airline launched its one-stop route from Amritsar to Toronto. It used to be very tiresome to fly from Punjab to Toronto because there had to be multiple stops.
