Anand Mahindra Compares Dubai Flood To Mumbai

As Dubai grapples with heavy rainfall and flood, businessman Anand Mahindra’s post on X has caught the attention of Netizens. The post included a video of Dubai’s flooded street and was captioned: ‘Nope. Not Mumbai. Dubai…’ It insinuated that the UAE capital and its current situation is similar to Mumbai.

The business tycoon’s post received a range of responses from people shortly after it went viral. Some condemned him for making fun of the circumstances.

Netizens React To The Businessman’s Post

After he made a comparison, one user questioned its applicability. He further went on and explained that Dubai was not built for heavy rains. The better analogy would be if Mumbai was snowed and the city was not built to handle it.

Another user asked if people are going to shame Dubai like they shame India for the flood.

A user directly addressed the businessman and stated that Mumbai had not been built on the desert. The current situation of the city is unexpected and Mumbai was built for monsoon.

Others supported his viewpoint and contended that Mahindra wasn’t making a joke but rather articulating the truth. A user commented that Anand Mahindra is not mocking Dubai but simply stating the fact that the city looks like Mumbai.

The person went on to say that excessive cloud seeding usage has contributed significantly to heavy downpours.
