Odisha’s Biju Patnaik Airport Announces Flights To 5 New Destinations

The Biju Patnaik International Airport on Thursday announced that it will introduce flights to five domestic destinations across India from 2025. According to The Economic Times, IndiGo Airlines will introduce flights to Indore and Deharadun from January 1, 2025, from this airport. The Indore flights will operate four days a week and for Dehradun, they will fly three days a week. These flights will depart from Bhubaneswar at 3 PM.

Air India Express will also commence flights to Lucknow and Jaipur three days a week from Bhubaneswar. Furthermore, they will also operate daily flights to Cochin from January 3, 2025. More details about the flight days and departure times are yet to be revealed.

Reportedly, Biju Patnaik International Airport also plans to start new flights to Bengaluru. An official told The Economic Times that these flights will commence from January 4, 2025.

Some Areas In Bhubaneswar Declared No-Fly Zone; Here’s Why

As per CNBC TV18, Bhubaneswar will be hosting an all-India IGP-DGP conference from November 29 to December 1. This conference will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah as well. That’s why, for security reasons, some areas in the city have been declared as no-fly and no-drone zones during this time period.

According to reports, a no drone/no flying zone notice has been issued for Biju Patnaik International Airport area, Raj Bhawan area, the event venue Lok Seva Bhawan, IPS Mess at Maitrivihar and the route from BPIA to Raj Bhawan, and from Raj Bhawan to Loka Seva Bhawan, airport to IPS Mess and Maitrivihar & IPS Mess to Loka Seva Bhawan.
