On the first day of its reopening, the tiger reserve saw 151 tourists in 36 vehicles. Similipal Tiger Reserve Reopens For Tourists
We’re giving you another reason to visit the beautiful state of Odisha – the Similipal Tiger Reserve has finally reopened! According to a Hindustan Times report, the tiger reserve was closed to tourists from June 12 due to the monsoon season. Now, as per the Deputy Director of Similipal Tiger Reserve, Samrat Gouda, authorities are offering wildlife safari facilities for tourists in the reserve for the first time!
With 55 species of mammals, 304 species of birds, 60 species of reptiles, 21 species of frogs, 38 species of fish, and 164 species of butterflies, Similipal Tiger Reserve is one of India’s most biodiverse national parks. The reserve also has the highest tiger population in Odisha.
Besides Bengal tigers, Similipal Tiger Reserve is also home to Asian elephants, leopards, barking deers, sambar, wild boars, gaur, and chausingha (four-horned antelope). As per Wikipedia, the park is a protected area and has been part of the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves since 2009.

Pre-Book & Enjoy Wildlife Safari At The Reserve
If you’re interested in trying out the wildlife safari facilities provided by the authorities at Similipal Tiger Reserve, then you can pre-book the safari vehicles through the Odisha Eco-Tourism website here. As per Hindustan Times, the wildlife safari vehicles will provide services in the morning and afternoon. The morning safari timings start as early as 5:30 AM and you can choose a slot till 10:30 AM. In the afternoon, the safari timings are between 3 PM and 7 PM. As per the website, booking a six-seater safari vehicle will cost you around ₹4,725.
