SalamAir, which is an Oman-based airline is quite famed for its services. Yes, people from the country, often board this flight to travel to the destination of their choice. However, recently, an Oman-bound flight of this airline hailing from Bangladesh had to make an emergency landing in India after a medical emergency. Here is everything you need to know about this emergency landing in Nagpur.

As reported by Khaleej Times, an Oman-bound SalamAir flight hailing from Bangladesh had to make an emergency landing in India. This flight was from Chittagong and it later had to divert and land in Nagpur because there was a medical emergency involving a passenger on board. The report mentions that the said passenger, a 33-year-old man had experienced two episodes of seizure mid-flight. As a result, immediate intervention and emergency medical assistance had to be made. After landing, he was taken to KIIMS Kingsway Hospital in Nagpur where he was given immediate assistance.

This Was Due To A Medical Emergency

It’s worth mentioning that when the medical team boarded the flight, the passenger was found conscious and coherent. Additionally, he was oriented and his vitals were also within the normal limits of the examination. According to information given by the cabin crew, the passenger had suffered two seizures during the flight. In fact, during one such episode, there was even frothing at the mouth.

Not The Only Airline To Make An Emergency Landing

It’s worth noting that this is not the first time that an airline has had to make an emergency landing due to medical issues. Aircraft often make such landings when certain situations arise. For instance, quite recently, a Vistara Airlines flight, which is an Indian airline had to make an emergency landing in Turkey after a bomb threat. The authorities later evacuated and searched the planes for explosives and the flight was flying from Mumbai to Frankfurt, Germany.

Similarly, the Delhi-bound flight of IndiGo had recently been diverted to Muscat due to technical issues. According to the airline, flyers had been offered hotel a stay in Muscat and even alternative arrangements had been made to facilitate their journey.

So, it’s quite important that one takes proper care of themselves while travelling and are in the prime of their health so that such medical emergencies can be avoided.
