When you think about hot air balloon rides surrounded by beautiful scenery, the first name that probably pops up on your mind is Cappadocia. But what if we tell you that soon this will also be possible in Oman? Well, that’s because it’s true! The Oman Balloons project has been launched by the Sultanate of Oman, which is said to be its first hot balloon, and we are here with the details.
Oman Balloons Launched By Sultanate Of Oman
With the aim of offering hot air balloon rides to tourists, Oman Balloons was recently launched by the Sultanate of Oman. This project was launched in Cappadocia, which is just perfect because this destination in Turkey is famous for its scenic rides in a hot air balloon. Moreover, the Omani firm completed hot air balloon ride trials, as it plans to soon introduce the same in the North Sharqiyah region of Oman.
As it happens, the first commercial flight is going to take place in Bidiyah, which is a beautiful city in Oman that’s located in the middle of the Eastern region. Offering stunning views of the desert and the surrounding terrain, tourists are truly going to appreciate this.
An Effort To Diversify Tourism Offerings
As mentioned previously, this initiative is being led by Oman Balloons, which is in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage & Tourism. As revealed by the Muscat Daily, the project forms a part of the Sultanate’s effort to diversify tourism offerings. Not to mention, it also forms a part of the fact that it wants to enhance the regional and international appeal for tourism on the map. As the balloon has already been successfully tested, it will soon be used for promoting tourism in Oman.
Certified By The Civil Aviation Authority
At this point, it’s worth mentioning that this hot air balloon has been certified by the Civil Aviation Authority, which has been designed for weather conditions in Oman, and it can carry up to 20 passengers at a time. Not only this, it will be operated by a certified pilot and assistant to ensure that tourists can have a safe and seamless ride as they enjoy the surrounding views of the desert escape.
So, the next time we talk about hot air balloon rides, you might just think about Oman and not just Turkey.
