On The 75th Independence Day, Mumbai Will Have ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’

India will celebrate its 75th Independence Day this year on 15 August. And to mark 75 years of Independence, the honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched an initiative ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative is a recently launched campaign of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and it encourages the Indian citizens to hoist our flag to celebrate the 75 years of India’s Independence. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation will provide flags to every household in Mumbai to commemorate the day.

Mumbai Will Have ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ On Independence Day 2022

BMC is currently working on giving free-of-cost flags to all the households in the City of Dreams before Independence day and BMC Head Iqbal Chahal is leading this initiative. They have already placed orders for 35 lakh flags for about ₹7 crores. According to the plan, all the stock of flags will be delivered by 5 August. BMC will then start distributing these flags to every house in Mumbai from 6 August to 12 August. BMC also has more plans to celebrate Independence day this year. They will conduct a laser show on Independence day at the popular Marine Drive costing ₹2 crores.

The previous plan was to hoist flags everywhere in Mumbai from buildings to industries to educational institutes, and commercial buildings. The proposal was to order 50 lakh flags on a budget of ₹16 crores. Later, the plan was changed on Tuesday.

BMC Has Huge Plans To Celebrate The 75th Independence Day

Mumbai is the only city where the municipal corporation is giving flags to every house for free of cost. The nearby corporations such as Navi Mumbai, Kalyan, Dombivili, and Thane will sell flags to the people at cost prices.

BMC is planning grand ways to celebrate the 75th Independence day. As per the sources, they have plans to light up the monuments from 13 August to 15 August. Also, the commissioner will write to Bollywood celebrities, corporates, and developers for sponsorship of the huge number of flags. Various sources are saying that BMC will also start a campaign where they will put 600 hoardings and banners in BEST buses. They will start uploading everything on social media platforms from 5 August. All these things are coming to an estimated cost of ₹30 crores.
