If you’ve travelled a lot on planes, you know that the punctuality of an airline can matter a lot. Hence, evaluating their operational performance is necessary. An aviation analytics company, Cirium, recently released a report in which the on-time performance of the airlines was reviewed on a global as well as regional scale. It yielded some important insights regarding the global aviation industry and the performance of some major airlines. Here are all of the important details that you would need to know about this report.

On-Time Performance Review: Most To Least Punctual Airlines

The report defined an on-time flight as one that arrives within 15 minutes of scheduled arrival and departs within 15 minutes of scheduled departure. Globally, Avianca Airlines was the most punctual. It is an airline based in Colombia’s Bogota.

In the Asian Pacific region, ANA was the most on-time whereas in the Middle East and Africa, Oman Air took the crown. In Latin America, Copa won the title of the most on-time airline. For Europe, Iberia Express topped the list.

Arrives on time 84.72 per cent of the time.

  1. Alaska Airlines

Arrives on time 82.25 per cent of the time.

  1. American Airlines

Arrives on time 80.61 per cent of the time.

  1. United Airlines

Arrives on time 80.04 per cent of the time.

  1. Southwest Airlines

Arrives on time 76.26 per cent of the time.

  1. Spirit Airlines

Arrives on time 71.16 per cent of the time.

  1. WestJet

Arrives on time 69.29 per cent of the time.

  1. Frontier Airlines

Arrives on time 68.68 per cent of the time.

  1. JetBlue Airways

Arrives on time 68.33 per cent of the time.

  1. Air Canada

Arrives on time 63.17 per cent of the time.
