Operation Falafel Donates 10,000 Meals To Support Covid-Hit Communities In UAE

Operation Falafel, the Arabian restaurant chain, announced the contribution of 10,000 meals to support communities affected by Covid-19. The initiative is part of the ’10 million meals’ campaign kicked off recently.

The restaurant’s contribution to UAE’s biggest food distribution drive, responds to the call for solidarity and cooperation to aid those who have lost their income or had pay cuts during the ongoing crisis.

Manhal Naser, CEO and Co-Founder of AWJ Investments, said “With Ramadan approaching, the 10 Million Meals Campaign is just another milestone that proves the wisdom and vision of the leadership that has always been in the forefront of their mission.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced on Sunday the launch of the ’10 million meals’ campaign to support families and individuals affected by the Covid-19 pandemic that left many facing unemployment and income reductions.

The campaign is led by his wife Her Highness Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of UAE Food Bank. Launched by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives in collaboration with the Social Solidarity against Covid-19, the campaign enables entities, companies, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, as well as the general public to purchase a number of meals online or donate packaged and canned food supplies to be distributed to disadvantaged families and individuals from different nationalities living across the UAE.

People can donate online on the website www.10millionmeals.ae, and through SMS or bank transfer. For in-kind contributions, donors can contact the campaign’s team on 8004006.
