They travelled to the holy places in Jordan, Palestine, and Israel, according to a report by Manorama News. The next country that they planned to visit was Egypt but things soon took a turn and war between Israel and Hamas began. The Israeli army officials did not allow them to travel and they ended up being stuck in the country. The pilgrims had to cover 70 km to travel to Egypt but they could not continue the journey as the army officials stopped them and did not give permission.

A man from the pilgrim group stated that they are safe over there and are staying in a 5-star hotel. They had a conversation with the Indian Embassy as well and they wanted proper assistance to reach back. The Embassy stated that the Israeli military would be there to help them to cross the border of the country.
