Global hospitality technology giant OYO has declared that one of their 2024 emphasis areas would be fostering inclusion by giving differently-abled players fair access to high-quality lodging. Promoting wheelchair-friendly infrastructure, such as ramps, larger doorways, and personnel that are trained to understand the special needs of guests, is one of the main goals of OYO’s project in its partner hotels.
OYO Has Patterned With Organisations Supporting Differently-Abled Players
By recently working with Khelo India Para Games and Divyang Kala Mela to provide specialised and accessible accommodations for differently abled players around India, OYO has already taken substantial steps towards this goal.
About 150 artists and business owners with special abilities are taking part in the ongoing Divya Kala Mela throughout India. They have access to lodging, thanks to OYO. For these participants, OYO has selected more than 200 hotels in various Indian cities, such as Varanasi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Patna, Surat, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, and Shimla. The authority-established parameters, such as ramp and lift facilities, have been the basis for the mapping of hotels.
Recently, OYO and the Khelo India Para Games 2023 in Delhi collaborated to accommodate over 1500 players in 45 different hotels throughout the city. OYO was in charge of the games’ cuisine and organising as part of a bigger relationship as an event management company. OYO also sent out devoted teams who worked in various shifts to offer all participants round-the-clock support.

According to Varun Jain, Chief Operating Officer, OYO is committed to making the world a welcoming place for all people. OYO hopes to foster a more welcoming atmosphere for all visitors using its vast hotel network. And guarantee that people with special abilities may find convenient and pleasant lodging all around India.
Collaborating With Wheeling Happiness Foundation
OYO is collaborating with organisations like the Wheeling Happiness Foundation. To connect with a greater number of athletes with special abilities. It recently provided lodging to competitors in the national competition “Para Kabaddi Impact 2023” held in Gurgaon.
Padma Shri Dr. Deepa Malik, Co-founder, Wheeling Happiness Foundation elaborated more on the partnership. She fully believes in the critical requirement of providing athletes with special abilities with accessible accommodations, as an advocate for diversity in sports. Their collaboration with the company makes athletics more empowering and accessible. Further, enabling each athlete to reach their full potential by utilising their special talents. This partnership is a big step towards encouraging diversity in the hospitality industry.
