Pankaj Tripathi Prepares His Favorite Bihari Delicacy In His Village And Here’s The Recipe

Pankaj Tripathi’s name comes under the category of actors who’re still grounded in their roots. He was recently seen in his village, preparing the Bihari delicacy litti-chokha with his friends and family. While in the middle of his film ‘Sherdil’s’ promotions he took a small break and visited his village in Bihar. His video went viral on the internet and he can also be seen cooking litti-chokha in the most traditional way. What caught people’s attention was the way he was a part of the preparation just like any other fellow would be.

What Is Litti-Chokha?

We all have heard the name Litti-chokha but if you don’t what exactly it is. Litti-chokha is the comfort meal for the UP and Bihar side people. Litti is a dough ball made from whole wheat flour, stuffed with chickpea flour, and legumes, and mixed with herbs and spices. Bake with charcoal or wood and cook with a large amount of ghee.  Litti is traditionally burned on firewood. Chokha is made up of eggplant, boiled or roasted potatoes, and tomatoes.

Often it is confused with Dal Baati. But both of them are way more different. Dal refers to a mixture of lentils and Baati is a hard wheat ball. While the litti has wheat and gram flour and Chokha is a blended mix of roasted potatoes and eggplant.
