More About The New Airport

The Noida International Airport has been in the works for several years and faced a few delays before finally opening. As per Hindustan Times, it will become the second international airport for the Delhi-NCR region, alongside Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Once fully up and running, the airport will handle a whopping 225 million passengers every year, making it India’s largest.

Phase 1 of the airport has been built in a budget of ₹11,200 crore. That means you can reach it easily by road, rail, metro, and other regional transport systems. The airport also comes with a multi-modal cargo hub. At first, it can handle over 2.5 lakh metric tonnes of cargo annually, but there are plans to ramp this up to 18 lakh metric tonnes in the future.

Right now, the airport can welcome 12 million passengers every year. But the authorities have big plans to grow this number to 70 million passengers per year.
