On February 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Vadodara-Bharuch section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. This marks another milestone in the infrastructure development for Gujarat and in terms of the expressway as well. As it happens, this is a crucial stretch on the highway. This section will not enhance the connectivity between the cities and also promise a smoother journey for many people. In case you’re still unaware, the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is a major expressway that spreads across 1,350 km and has eight lanes. Currently under construction, it is drastically going to reduce the time taken to travel between the two cities once it is complete.

In fact, after the inauguration of the highway in Gujarat, the prime minister landed in Kashi on the same night, where he inspected the Shivpur-Phulwaria-Lahartara Marg. This is a project that was inaugurated recently. It is going to make the commute easier for people, especially those living in the southern part of the city! The inspection was also carried out on the same night when he reached Varanasi at 11 PM and directly went to the site to inspect the development.

Not just this, but PM Narendra Modi also unveiled projects worth ₹14,000 crores in Kashi today. During his whirlwind tour, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several initiatives. Yes, these were spread across diverse sectors like healthcare, education, sports, cultural heritage, transportation, and even waterways. His itinerary as posted on X revealed several key events and it also mentioned the unveiling of 36 projects that would be worth a staggering Rs 14,316 crore. It’s worth noting that during these events, he also laid the foundation stone for a museum dedicated to the 15th-century poet-saint, Sant Ravidas and unveiled his magnificent 25 feet bronze statue.
