India’s railway connectivity got enhanced by a significant margin with the recent inauguration of many new Vande Bharat trains. On March 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 10 new Vande Bharat trains from Ahmedabad. The grand event was conducted virtually through video conferencing. Now, the overall count of these semi-high-speed trains exceeded 50 in India.

Sharing a video of himself addressing an event in Ahmedabad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called March 12 “a landmark day for Indian Railways”. On Monday, he not only inaugurated 10 new Vande Bharat trains but also laid the foundation stones of multiple important railway projects such as pit lines, workshops, electric traction system development, and more. According to a report by The Times of India, PM Modi also inaugurated the 51 Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminals. He unveiled 50 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras at some railway stations.

These trains have magnificently connected different parts of the country. From East to West to North to South, Vande Bharat Express now connects over 40 routes all around the country. Travelling on these trains is surely a great experience. From the faster speed to the different types of facilities and services provided to each passenger, most people share positive reviews after a journey on these semi-high-speed trains. The best part is that the amenities emphasise providing the utmost comfort while travelling with the chair car facilities.

PM Modi’s itinerary for the day also includes flagging off the extension development of some Vande Bharat trains. The extended routes are:

  • Ahmedabad – Jamnagar is now extended to Dwarka.
  • Vande Bharat connecting Ajmer and Delhi Sarai Rohilla is extended till Chandigarh.
  • Gorakhpur – Lucknow has been extended till Prayagraj.
  • Connecting Thiruvananthapuram and Kasargod, the train is extended to Mangaluru.

Taking to the X platform, Ruchika (@BjpRuchika) shared a video of the new Ahmedabad – Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express.

  • Ahmedabad – Mumbai Central
  • Kalaburagi – Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru
  • Khajuraho – Delhi (Nizamuddin)
  • Lucknow – Dehradun
  • Mysuru – Dr MGR Central (Chennai)
  • New Jalpaiguri – Patna
  • Patna – Lucknow
  • Puri – Visakhapatnam
  • Secunderabad – Visakhapatnam
  • Varanasi – Ranchi
