The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in New Delhi is hosting an event to celebrate India’s ancient medical heritage, coinciding with Dhanvantari Jayanti and Ayurveda Day. Several healthcare initiatives valued at approximately ₹12,850 crore are scheduled to be inaugurated and established by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 29, 2024.
Projects Under PM Narendra Modi’s Healthcare Initiatives
The Prime Minister plans to expand Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) to offer comprehensive health coverage to all senior citizens aged 70 and above, regardless of income.
PM Modi plans to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure by launching three new medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh, enhancing medical education and accessibility.

Service and facility expansions will be introduced at AIIMS centres across various states, including Bilaspur, Kalyani, Patna, Gorakhpur, Bhopal, Guwahati, and New Delhi.
Jan Aushadhi Kendra and more healthcare services are among the enhancements. Additionally, PM Modi will open a Critical Care Block in Bargarh, Odisha, and a Super Speciality Block at the Government Medical College in Bilaspur.

Expansion In Healthcare Network
In Madhya Pradesh, PM Modi intends to open an ESIC hospital in Indore and lay the groundwork for other ESIC facilities in Faridabad, Bommasandra, Narasapur, Meerut, Atchutapuram, and Indore. The goal of this action is to strengthen and broaden India’s healthcare network.
Projects to increase healthcare access for around 55 lakh people and their families are being carried out under the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) program.

In order to improve remote medical resource delivery, PM Modi intends to implement drone-based healthcare services at 11 tertiary institutions, including AIIMS sites in Rishikesh, Bibinagar, Guwahati, Bhopal, and Jodhpur.
In order to establish climate-resilient healthcare systems throughout India, PM Modi intends to launch helicopter emergency medical services at AIIMS Rishikesh, launch the U-WIN portal for digital vaccination management, and unveil a state-specific action plan on climate change and human health as well as a national health awareness campaign called “Desh Ka Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyan.” These steps are intended to promote mother and child health and guarantee prompt action in emergency situations.
