PM Modi To Inaugurate 5 New Railway Stations In India

The foundation stones for the redevelopment of five railway stations in Tamil Nadu will be laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chennai Egmore, Rameswaram, Madurai, Katpadi, and Kanniyakumari are the railway stations that are scheduled for redevelopment. The station redevelopment project will cost around ₹1,800 crores. In Chennai, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for 11 projects worth over ₹31,500 crore.

Socio-Economic Prosperity

Through the redevelopment project, the government intends to create modern amenities to enhance the convenience and comfort of Indian Railways‘ passengers. There are many such projects in the pipeline by the government. As well as improving socio-economic prosperity in the region, these projects will help generate employment opportunities as well as have a transformational effect on many sectors. Furthermore, PM Modi will also inaugurate 1,152 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban, which were built at a cost of Rs 116 crore as part of the ‘Light House Project–Chennai’.

Development And Boosting Tourism

In Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate five projects worth more than Rs 2960 crore to the nation. According to the statement, the 75-kilometre-long Madurai-Teni (Railway Gauge Conversion Project) will cost more than Rs 500 crore. In addition to improving access, the project will boost tourism in the area. The third railway line from Tambaram to Chengalpattu will cost more than Rs 590 crore. According to the PMO, the project will allow the operating of more suburban train services, increasing options for travellers as well as providing better comfort.
