For those who may not know, prediabetes, as the name suggests, is a condition that can progress to Type 2 Diabetes but is not quite there yet. It is when your blood sugar levels are higher than average but not so high that it can be categorised as full-fledged diabetes.

Once a person is diagnosed with this condition, their likelihood of getting type 1 or type 2 diabetes increases. Hence, if you’re looking for ways to control your prediabetes, here are three crucial tips that you should follow: –

  • Eating Vegetables: Dr. Panchal says that at least five servings of vegetables should be included in your meals daily. Furthermore, you should try to start your meals with vegetables.
  • Low GI Carb Options: She says that you will anyway consume carbs so it is important to consume carbohydrates that are low on the glycemic index. This will prevent the sugar levels in your blood from spiking too high.
  • Importance Of Physical Activity: Physical activity is super important in deterring the exacerbation of diabetes. A sedentary lifestyle is the major cause of this disease.
