Mumbai! It is time to bring out your rainbow flags because it is officially Pride Month in Mumbai! In case you are not aware, January is officially celebrated as Pride Month in the Financial Capital of the country. Each weekend of the month is therefore marked by a plethora of queer-positive events. From the iconic Gulabi Mela to Pride March, here are all the gay (pun intended) and exciting events that January has in store for you!

Pride Month Mumbai 2024: All The Events Planned This Month

1. Rainbowlicious Saturday Night

A fun-filled queer party, this event is truly inclusive as it is also wheelchair accessible. The event is hosted by Haus Of Rage and will take place in Planet Hollywood, Thane.

An afternoon filled with fun outdoor activities? Who wouldn’t want to join? Pro Tip: If you bring a date to this event, the beach can be the perfect romantic setting. This event is organised by Yaariyan and The Humsafar Trust.

4. KASHISH Forward

KASHISH is a queer film festival that features movies for and by queer people. The event has free entry and everyone who is above 18 is free to attend the festival. It will be organised by the KASHISH Arts Foundation.

Where: Sophia Bhabha Hall Auditorium, Breach Candy

When: Thursday, January 18, 1 PM to 4 PM

5. Leaders Inside

Being a queer business leader is hard and to help you find your professional tribe, Leaders Inside is here. It is a professional networking event dedicated to facilitating connections between queer businesses and owners.

Where: House Of Pandora, Khar West

When: Thursday, January 18, 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM

6. 360° Health Camp And Talk On Mental Health

Queer health is a huge concern and to educate people about it, this health camp is organised. The camp will be from 12 PM to 4 PM. From 4 PM to 6 PM, there will be a talk on mental health as well.

When: Friday, January 19, 12 PM to 6 PM

7. The PRIDE Kiki Ballroom

A Drag Ball event, if you love glitter and camp, this event is for you. This event is wheelchair accessible and is organised by The Gay Gaze, Rayyan and Zeesh.

When: Saturday, January 20, 8 PM to 1:30 AM

8. LGBTQ+ Flashmob

Every year, Yaariyan and The Humsafar Trust organise a flash mob in a mall. The location of this year’s flash mob is still to be confirmed.

9. Postcards From Colaba

This is not just any old heritage walk, it’s a queer performative heritage walk. It will begin at Colaba at 7 PM and at 10 PM.

10. What The Folx

Hosted by the queer legend Harrish Iyer, it’s an interactive event for all allies who want to educate themselves on how to support their queer friends and family better.

11. Queer Hugs

An evening filled with music, dance and positive queer vibes, Gulabi Mela is one of the most-awaited queer events in Mumbai.

Where: Vanita Samaj, Shivaji Park, Dadar West

14. Queer Bombay History Walk

If parties are not your style and you prefer nerding out over queer history in Bombay, then this is for you. A free event, it is open to all. 

Where: South Mumbai

When: Sunday, January 28, 3 PM to 7 PM

15. Qutopia: High On Love

16. Queer Pride March

Probably the MOST anticipated Pride Event in Mumbai, the Queer Azaadi March is finally back at its OG location: August Kranti Maidaan. Beginning at 3 PM, the march will cover the Girgaum area.

It is important to note that the date, time and venue of the march are tentative and subject to change depending on permissions.

When: Saturday, February 3, 3 PM Onwards

17. Queer Island

After all that righteous screaming and walking for rights and justice, some partying is warranted. So head to Veranda in Bandra for a post-pride after-party. It will be organised by The Gay Gaze Bombay.

When: 9 PM to 1:30 AM

18. Official Post Pride Party

Organised by Salvation Star, Haus Of Rage and Samavesh, this is another post-pride party that you can attend.
