R. Madhavan Reveals What His Power-Packed Morning Routine Looks Like

There are two kinds of people in this world, early risers and night owls. Turns out actor R. Madhavan is part of the former group! The ‘Shaitaan’ actor revealed to our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, on one of our Power Breakfast episodes while sharing his daily morning routine, food habits and more. Scroll on to read about his perfect and healthy lifestyle.

What Is R. Madhavan’s Power-Packed Morning Routine?

As we began the episode, we wanted to throw light on Madhavan’s ideal morning routine. He told us that he gets up at six in the morning, no matter what time he sleeps. The actor stated, “As soon as I get up, the first thing is, I pray. It awakens my mind completely.”

Remember that your parents used to tell you to wake up early? Because it helps with better functioning of the brain and the output is greater than ever? Madhavan is a firm believer in this notion. He said, “I find the morning hours to be the most creative.”

Back to his morning routine, the actor quickly freshens up to do some leg stretches. After that, he is completely famished, so he heads straight to the breakfast table to indulge in some power-packed brekkie to re-fuel.

Kamiya asked Madhavan about his favourite breakfast dish. Our guest described a traditional South Indian dish called Kanji as his go-to breakfast food item. It’s a simple overnight dish made with fermenting boiled rice. Kanji requires the overnight fermented rice to be mixed with fresh yoghurt and a good tadka with freshly chopped onions and chillies.

When it comes to masalas, Kanji only needs a little bit of salt; the rest of the ingredients add flavour to the dish. Madhavan believes this dish is “the most cooling, filling and calming breakfast” he consumes at the breakfast table. However, he mentioned that this food item is supposed to provide high energy whereas he experiences a wave of slumber post-consumption of Kanji!
