A powerful storm swept through Al Amerah in Al Ain on Tuesday, with strong winds sending objects flying through the air as unsettled weather affected several parts of the UAE, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
Powerful Storm Hits Al Ain As Rain And Hail Sweep Across The Country Today
Rain was also reported in Al Faw in Sharjah, while showers fell over Al Faqa along the Dubai–Al Ain road and on the Al Shuwaib road north of Al Ain. Hail was seen in Dubai, with video footage capturing the weather across the emirate. Rainfall was also recorded in Saa, east of Al Ain, and along Al Madam road in Sharjah.
What NCM Forecasts Next
The NCM has forecast fair to partly cloudy conditions through midweek, with convective clouds expected to develop over eastern and southern areas in the afternoon, extending to some inland regions and bringing further rainfall. Conditions are expected to turn humid overnight and into the following morning over parts of the western coast, with a chance of light fog.
Winds And Rising Temperatures
Winds are forecast to stay light to moderate, becoming fresh to strong at times, with the potential to stir up dust and sand. Southeasterly to northeasterly winds are expected at 10 to 25km/h, gusting up to 45km/h. Despite the unsettled skies, temperatures are climbing: forecasts point to 48°C in Liwa, 47°C in Abu Dhabi, 46°C in Al Ain, 44°C in Sharjah and 43°C in Dubai. The Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are expected to stay slight.

Combined with the sharp rise in daytime temperatures, the shifting conditions make it worth checking NCM updates before heading out, especially for residents with outdoor plans this week, or those driving through areas prone to flash flooding after heavy showers.
