It has a reputation for being an extremely popular religious site and is thronged by pilgrims from all over the world. Not to mention that it is also surrounded by many mysteries. Because it is also known for its ritualistic healing and exorcism, many pilgrims from India visit Mehandipur Balaji Temple to get rid of evil spirits or other paranormal activity. Mehandipur Balaji Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to the Hindu deity Hanuman. The temple is dedicated to Balaji (another name for Shree Hanuman Ji). The aura inside the Temple is weirdly different. It is strange and the feeling stays with you even when you chant Jai Baba, a chant which you will be greeted with as soon as you enter. The crowd at this temple in Rajasthan is filled with people who are believed to be possessed by some evil spirit. Upon arrival, the ones possessed start behaving in an extremely strange manner. 

The strange manner refers to them banging their heads on the walls, screaming and shouting, randomly crying, violently shaking their bodies and more. Hence, it can be quite an experience for faint-hearted people; think before you plan to visit this temple.

Rajasthan’s Mehandipur Balaji Temple is known for its ritualistic healing and exorcism. So it is a common site that the possessed humans are tied to railings outside the temple with iron chains while the pandits are performing rituals of exorcism. A lot of mantras are chanted loudly and holy water, the water that comes from the idol of Balaji, is used. 

Here Are Some Rituals You Have To Follow At This Temple

  • The ritual will start even before you step into Rajasthan’s Mehandipur Balaji Temple. You have to eat a vegetarian diet a week before you visit the temple.
  • Religious places are popular for distributing prasad and pilgrims bringing back home prasad for their near and dear ones but it is not the case here. You shouldn’t eat, distribute or bring home Mehandipur Balaji Temple’s prasad. 
  • One ritual states that you have to throw it away and not look back at it.

  • Once the possessed humans get relief from the evil spirits, they visit Bhairav Baba.
  • Any priest will not take money as an offering and will refuse. Hence, do not pay money in any form.
  • Photography and videography strictly prohibited here.
