Something big is starting to take shape in Al Rams, Ras Al Khaimah. It’s the kind of change they’ll actually notice in everyday life. It’s not just another project announcement with fancy renders and complicated promises. The UAE’s Emirates Council for Balanced Development has confirmed new work on the Al Rams Waterfront and Al Rams Boulevard projects, & here’s what to expect.

Together, they’re set to turn the coastal area into a more connected place for families, visitors, shop owners and residents who’ve lived there for years.
The waterfront stretch alone will cover around two kilometres. There’ll be walking paths, cycling tracks and jogging lanes running along the coast. Also green spaces, public areas, playgrounds and open plazas where events and gatherings can happen.
A Corniche People Will Actually Spend Time At
The plan includes a full redevelopment of Al Rams Corniche and Al Rams Marina too. The idea is to make the area feel more organised and easier to enjoy, whether someone wants to go for a morning walk, sit by the water in the evening or spend time outdoors with family.
A heritage-inspired landmark is also part of the project. Officials say it’ll reflect Emirati culture and give the waterfront its own identity instead of looking like every other modern coastal strip. That part will probably matter a lot to locals in Al Rams, especially since the area already has deep roots and a quieter charm compared to busier parts of the UAE.
Shop Owners Are Getting A Major Upgrade Too
More than 100 shops along the main commercial road are expected to be renovated under the Al Rams Boulevard project. The area will get a cleaner and more unified look, but designers are still keeping traditional Emirati influences in the mix.
One of the more interesting details is a shaded pedestrian walkway inspired by Al Sadu weaving patterns. It’ll connect the shops directly to the corniche. Parking spaces and public seating will also be added.

Work Will Take Place In Phases
For many local businesses, construction can be stressful. But officials said the work will happen in stages so shops can stay open during the process instead of shutting down completely.
The wider goal here is pretty clear. The UAE has been putting more focus on developing villages and smaller communities, not just major cities. And Al Rams now seems to be one of the next places getting that attention.
If everything goes to plan, the area could end up becoming one of Ras Al Khaimah’s more relaxed waterfront spots without losing the local character that made people like it in the first place.
