Every year, millions of people travel to Katra from Delhi to begin their pilgrimage to the iconic Vaishno Devi shrine. In fact, not just pilgrims, the Delhi-Katra road serves as an important route for many traders and everyday commuters. Now, everyone will be able to reach Jammu to Delhi in six hours flat by 2023.
Now, Reach Jammu To Delhi In 6 Hours; Katra To Delhi In 6.5 Hours
Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced that the Katra-Delhi Express Road is already under construction. If everything goes as planned, the corridor will be ready by 2023. Also, people will be able to cover the distance between Katra and Delhi in about six and a half hours. And, the distance between Jammu to Delhi will be covered in flat 6 hours. Katra-Delhi Express Road To Cover Major Holy Cities
The Katra-Delhi Express Road will cover some major holy cities and towns. Two such important cities are Katra, serves as the base for pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi, and Amritsar, home to the Golden Temple. Other important cities that fall along the route include Jammu, Kathua, Jalandhar, Kapurthala and Ludhiana. The estimated cost of completing the project is pegged at ₹35,000 crore.
