Registrations Mandatory For Char Dham Yatra 2023 That’s Starting This April. Here Are The New Directions

The state administration of Uttarakhand announced the opening dates of all four revered shrines: Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. The Char Dham Yatra 2023 will commence on April 22, this year. The government has made it very clear that this year all the pilgrims have to compulsorily register themselves before the journey. It has also issued new directions with respect to the holy pilgrimage.

Registrations Are Mandatory For Char Dham Yatra 2023

Uttarakhand, “The Land of Gods,” is expecting a lot of pilgrims to turn up for the Char Dham Yatra 2023. All the domestic and international pilgrims have to compulsorily undergo registration before being a part of the yatra this year. It has clearly stated that it will not let people travel without registration.

The state government has instructed all department personnel to stay attentive in order to ensure safety and efficient operations during the Badrinath Yatra in light of the recent soil subsidence in Joshimath. It is the gateway to the Badrinath Dham and hence an important spot. Due to recent fissures that have occurred on the Badrinath Highway, which is located close to Joshimath, Badrinath Dham is this year’s most crucial Char Dham leg.

The Helang Bypass Is The Chosen Route

Joshimath and Badrinath Dham are separated by only 45 kilometres, which can be travelled in less than two hours. The authorities have this year again chosen the Helang Bypass route for Char Dham Yatra 2023, which is just 9km before Joshimath because it is still in the early stages of construction. Its construction of the Bypass was put on hold due to the scenario in Joshimath

At Joshimath, many alarming cracks appeared in hundreds of homes, streets, and fields at the beginning of January. Scientists and environmentalists have brought up the question of the carrying capacity of these high altitude pilgrimage sites in light of the number of pilgrims last year (45 lakh pilgrims). The fragile zone encompasses the entire Himalayan region, which includes several pilgrimage sites.
