Restaurants, Other Public Places In Dubai To Remain Closed Until Further Notice

Dubai has extended the shutdown for hotel establishments, along with floating restaurants, venues and other event organisers until further notice. The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing issued a circular announcing an extension on ‘all precautionary circulars’ until ‘further notice’. The new rule has come into effect immediately.

The circular reads: “In line with Dubai Government Precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of its residents and visitors, we extend all the Precautionary Circulars on the web site until further notice.” Dubai Tourism will continuously evaluate the situation in coordination with the health authorities.

Previously, Dubai Tourism suspended all activities in the city including gyms, spas, pubs and parks in a bid to curb Covid 19. On April 4, Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, in coordination with the Command and Control Centre for Combating COVID-19, announced the extension of the national sterilisation programme to 24 hours for two weeks across all areas and communities in the emirate, which is expected to end on April 18.
