Flight delays over the last few days have become a pressing issue for flyers in North India. And Richa Chadha was one of the many who faced this issue. Richa Chadha posted on X (formerly Twitter) about her two flight delays in two days with IndiGo airline. She even called out the monopoly of the airline in direct flights on some of the domestic routes. Her flights on both days got delayed by upto four hours.
Two Flights Delays In Two Days, Richa Shares Her Experience & Lesson
On my 3rd flight in 3 days… day 1, @IndiGo6E delayed by over 4 hours. Day 2, @IndiGo6E delayed by 4 hours. But the only direct flights on some routes are often Indigo. Day 3, international flight, no problem.
On the 14th of Jan, there was an air show in Mumbai, because of…

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Richa Chadha expressed her displeasure about flying with IndiGo. She recalled how two of her flights in two days – both IndiGo – got delayed for about four hours. She even mentioned how “the only direct flights on some routes are often IndiGo.” This led her to call out the monopoly that the airline has in the aviation sector.
Richa even mentioned the IndiGo flight controversy where a passenger allegedly hit the pilot for the delay in flight. She said, “I am surprised only one person got physically assaulted because tempers were running very high.” She did mention how she does not condone violence in any situation.

Furthermore, she shared the lesson she learned from this entire ordeal, “Monopoly – whether airlines, airport ownership or leadership – creates lack of accountability.” Finally, she concluded her post by commenting at the end of the day, it’s the common citizens who suffer and have to bear the expense of it all.
Netizens Share Their Two Cents On The Whole Row
Richa’s post and the general public downpour on IndiGo due to flight delays in the last few days called for people to share their two cents on the entire situation.
Yes. Exactly. Which is why when people say they are apolitical – they are really shrugging off their responsibility as citizens and asking to be cheated. Speaking up is the only way.

Perfectly put….spot on.
There were times… Not very old… Just a few years ago when airlines used to arrange food, accommodation when flight is late by more than 4 hours.
Now even 12 hours delay dont matters.Monopoly & crony capitalism at its best. pic.twitter.com/gUNKN8xSNr

Many Netizens flooded Richa with support online and even shared some of their bad experiences with the airline.
The crux of the issue seems to be the roster for crew and pilots. And the airline conveniently blamed it on Fog. @IndiGo6E is one of the worst airline in terms of customer service. Their staff are generally arrogant & smug.

While there were some who gave the other side of the story and came in support of the crew of IndiGo.
Nobody delays the flight intentionally. The weather is really bad in North India because of which it is happening.

Airlines run on razor thin margins and frequently go bust. We should be glad that atleast Indigo is flying, even if it is massively delayed.
I am saying this with full experience of frequent traveler.— Sanjay Ojha (@sanjayojha2010) January 17, 2024
No one likes getting their schedule disrupted because of flight delays. So, we just hope that the weather clears out soon and people don’t face such issues further.
