After The Delayed Flight Fiasco, IndiGo Goes On “Flight Mode”; Web Check-In & Other Services Impacted

IndiGo recently made headlines after an incident on the Delhi-Goa flight went viral. A passenger got upset after the flight was delayed for more than 13 hours and he ended up hitting the co-pilot who was making an announcement. After testimonies from other co-passengers went viral on social media, it seems that IndiGo has now gone offline. A statement issued around an hour ago said that the airline was going into “flight mode.”

IndiGo Goes On “Flight Mode”; Services Will Be Impacted

In a statement issued more than an hour ago, IndiGo took to their X (formerly known as Twitter) account and announced that they were going into “Flight Mode.” The statement said that this was being done to provide an improved customer experience.

It also mentioned that their systems were undergoing an upgrade and hence, some services might be impacted. While they mentioned that the flight operations will continue uninterrupted, they said that web check-in services, self-baggage drops and their Digi Yatra services will not be available.

In an earlier statement which now seems to be modified, they said that they would be back by 8:30 AM today. However, it seems that will no longer be the case as the latest modified statement does not specify when their systems will be back online.

A Delhi-Goa flight scheduled on January 14 was first delayed by ten hours. Passengers did not receive prior notice of it. After they were onboarded, ten hours later, they were told that the flight would be delayed another two hours.

This angered one passenger so much that he ended up hitting the co-pilot. One co-passenger later revealed on Instagram that though she did not support or think that hitting the pilot was right, the pilot was being very rude and blaming the passengers for further delay by asking questions.
