Many radars have been installed across the UAE roads to catch traffic violators. But people thought that these radars only caught people who exceeded the speed limit. Well, no! These radars, which are installed on UAE roads, are powered by the latest technologies and can sense many other offences. The detection is so powerful that they can detect even cars where people have failed to fasten their seatbelts contributing to rule violations. 

Traffic Rule Violations That Come Under Radars On UAE Roads

The fines this time for all the violators is not only a hefty fine but also some months of impoundment. Some vehicles will also be put up for public auction. Here are some of the offences that were detected by the radar and will face penalties:

1. Road Racing 

If you are into unauthorised road racing on UAE roads, it comes under traffic rule violations. You will be assessed a fine of Dh50,000. 

2. Expired Registration

Driving a vehicle with an expired registration comes under traffic rule violations. You will be slapped with four black points and a fine of Dh500. If your vehicle registration has expired for more than three months, your vehicle will be impounded for 60 days.

3. Using Mobile Phones While Driving

An automated system is used by the Abu Dhabi police to detect all the motorists who use mobile phones while driving. These cameras are powered by artificial intelligence and capture pictures in high resolution. You will be fined 4 black points and Dh800.

4. Driving Too Closely To the Vehicle In Front

if you are tailgating another vehicle. The radars will detect this and impose a hefty fine on you. If you fail to leave a safe distance from the vehicle in front, You will be fined Dh400 and four black points.

5. Exceeding Speed Limit

If you exceed the given speed limit, you will have to face hefty fines. Except for Abu Dhabi, in all the emirates, the radars can detect speeding. You will be fined between Dh300 and Dh3,000 depending on how fast you were driving over the limit. 

6. Vehicles Causing Noise

Many people customise their cars to illegally boost speed, which in turn makes their vehicle noisy. The radars in Sharjah easily detect this noise, which exceeds the limit of 95 decibels. An immediate fine of Dh2,000 and 12 black points are levied on the owner.

7. Wrong Turns

Be it jumping the red signal, taking U turns from not-allowed areas, or taking the wrong turns, none of these violations will be considered negligible. You will have to pay a fine of Dh1,000, and 12 points will be levied. Your vehicle will also be confiscated for 30 days.

8. Seat Beat 

Not wearing seat belts comes unquestionably under traffic rule violations, and a driver is fined Dh400 plus four black points.
