Sadhguru: Thinking Is Just The Recycling Of The Data You Already Know

Have you ever had lengthy conversations with like-minded people about life, existence and philosophy? It makes you introspect about a whole lot of things. On this brilliant Sunday Brunch episode, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, had the privilege of asking some thoughtful questions to Sadhguru in Coimbatore. We are sharing one of his profound teachings, scroll down to learn more about it.

Sadhguru Said That We Recycle The Stored Data In Our Heads

Sadhguru highlighted how much he loved just living in the moment. He has always been fascinated by life and its miraculous adventures. Hence, he watches everything with tremendous attention. He said, “Your attention should be so keen that if you look at something, you penetrate it. You don’t think…thinking is just the recycling of the data you already know.”

Sadhguru focuses on how it is better to inculcate knowledge and let your mind understand it. He gave an example to illustrate it further, “A cow will go on mulching the food it has eaten, you (humans) don’t have to do that.” Our brain has to command the mouth to chew the food. He expanded on the above statement by stating that the human mind is built in a way that without any attention or command, our brains can’t take any actions.

Sadhguru continued that it is of no good if someone is considering stepping on the path of rebellion without any awareness. He highlighted that it may seem like a great step towards rebellion but after a couple of nights, it might turn out to be extremely stupid.

Through this, he wants to convey that attention is needed to take logical measures. It doesn’t matter if you already have profound data stored in the brain. Making sensible decisions even while being rebellious might help you not enter into stupid situations. He is not saying no to being rebellious but being a thoughtful rebel is a lot better than a leader without any thoughts.
