Aeroplanes have made travelling easier! Once you get past all the necessary security checks and formalities, all you need to do is get on your flight and viola! You’re at your destination in just a matter of hours, something that would have taken a lot more time by road. But, with ease also comes the fear of technical glitches that may occur or any other reason that may often lead to the flight being landed at the nearest airport. And let’s be honest, it’s rather nerve-racking to have any flight take an emergency landing! Something similar happened to the passengers of SalamAir connecting Chittagong to Muscat, the previous night. This landing was made after the pilot noticed smoke from the engine. Read on!

Earlier this morning it was reported that SalamAir flight Ov406, headed to Oman from Bangladesh made an emergency landing at Nagpur Airport, India. This incident happened the previous night after the pilot detected smoke being emitted from the engine. The said flight, left Chittagong, Bangladesh carrying 200 passengers and seven crew members, and it was headed to Muscat, Oman. It’s worth noting that all the passengers and crew members are safe.

Second Flight With Bangladesh To Make Emergency Landing In India

While there are not any more details about the emergency landing, it is worth mentioning that this is the second flight having Bangladesh connect that has made an emergency landing in India. Yes, earlier in 2021, a Biman Bangla aircraft from Bangladesh made an emergency landing. This happened after the pilot suffered a heart attack whilst he was on the plane.

Not The Only Flight To Have Made An Emergency Landing

While talking about emergency landings, recently there have been several cases of emergency landings being reported. The recent one was that of an Air India Express flight, IX 385 that landed in Thiruvananthapuram. This flight was headed from Kozhikode to Dammam and had 176 passengers and six crew members. The emergency landing was made after the aeroplane suffered a tail strike at the runway of Kozhikode Airport, India.
