Menstrual hygiene is extremely crucial and it is high time the resources to maintain menstrual hygiene are made accessible to women across the country. Many sanitary napkin vending machines have been set up in several schools across states. To ensure, that women can travel in comfort, the Chennai Metro rail, partnered with the Rotary Club of Madras and Geo India Foundation to set up sanitary napkin vending machines in 39 metro rail stations in the city.

The Chennai Metro had already allotted separate compartments for women to travel and now, women-only toilets have been set up at metro stations to ensuring women a safe commute. CCTV Cameras Set Up For Women Safety

Along with the sanitary napkin vending machines and ladies’ toilets, CCTV cameras have also been set up adequately. Helpline numbers and security staff have been placed to provide a safe environment for women.
