Saudi’s Highest Peak Will Soon Be A Mountain Tourism Destination; HRH Crown Prince Launches Masterplan

Saudi Arabia will soon be home to a luxury mountain tourism destination. A masterplan has been introduced by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister and Chairman of Soudah Development. This would transform Soudah and portions of Rijal Almaa into Soudah Peaks, a luxury mountain tourism resort located 3,015 meters above sea level on Saudi Arabia’s highest peak.

Saudi’s Highest Peak Will Soon Be A Mountain Tourism Destination

The Soudah Peak project is a crucial component of the Public Investment Fund’s (PIF) efforts to diversify the economy by bolstering the Aseer development strategy and expanding vital industries like tourism, hospitality, and entertainment. It is located in an exceptional natural and cultural environment in the Aseer region of southwest Saudi Arabia.

By 2033, Soudah Development will provide 80,000 square meters of commercial space, 1,336 residential units, 2,700 hospitality keys, and other amenities for Soudah Peaks. The project will be built out in three phases, with the first phase, which is scheduled to be finished in 2027, including 940 hotel keys, 391 homes, and 32,000 square meters of retail space.

It hopes to provide top-notch, opulent hotel services to over two million guests annually. The masterplan is being created to enhance the region’s cultural and landscape heritage. It will also reflect local traditional and architectural forms.

6 Distinct Development Zones

There will be six distinct development zones at the location: Tahlal, Sahab, Sabrah, Jareen, Rijal, and Red Rock. Each will provide a variety of top-notch amenities. This includes hotels, opulent mountain resorts, residential chalets, villas, and opulent mansion sites. It also includes amusement and retail attractions and outdoor sites for sports, adventure, wellness, and culture.

Soudah Peaks, according to HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the chairman of Soudah Development’s Board of Directors, represents a new era of luxury mountain tourism. It offers an unmatched living experience while maintaining the surrounding natural beauty, rich culture, and tradition.

Less than 1% of the land surrounding Soudah Peaks was purchased for construction. This reflects Soudah Development’s dedication to upholding best-in-class sustainability standards and supporting the Saudi Green Initiative. The development is spread across more than 627 square kilometers of breathtaking natural beauty.
